5 TOOLS
Pixel Film Studios lists FCPX Stabilizer 2.0 as a five-tool package for tracking and stabilizing footage inside Final Cut Pro.
The tools are designed around identifying movement, tracking a defined subject or area, and using that motion information to counter unwanted camera movement.
WORKFLOW
1. Apply FCPX Stabilizer to the footage that needs stabilization.
2. Open the Track Editor and select a clearly defined tracking area.
3. Analyze the movement of the selected subject or region.
4. Use the tracking data to stabilize the shot.
5. Refine position, rotation, and cropping to complete the result.
For more reliable tracking, the selected subject should be well defined and have strong contrast against its surroundings. Significant brightness changes or excessive motion blur can reduce tracking accuracy.
